On Jan. 3, 2022, a new health order in Cook County orders individuals over the age of two to wear face coverings in indoor public places. On the same date, a new ordinance in the city of Chicago requires restaurants, bars, gyms, fitness centers, and entertainment/recreation venues where food or beverages are served to require proof of vaccination from all patrons.
